چکیده
PURPOSE OF THE STUDY This retrospective study presents our experience in treatment of polytrauma patients with acetabular fractures treated only modified Stoppa approach or combination iliac wing approach. The purpose this was to evaluate the outcome operated MATERIAL AND METHODS Polytrauma who suffered from hospital during 2008-2018, by using approach, were included study. evaluated Majeed score. Cases hip replacement due post-traumatic osteoarthritis (PTOA) summarized. group compared control group, which through ilioinguinal RESULTS We examined 42 (12 women and 30 men; mean age 44 years). Anatomical satisfactory fracture healing achieved 92% fractures. In score significantly better (p<0.05). Seven had PTOA following results - 5 (13%) anatomical reduction 2 (50%) displacement more than 3 mm all reductions DISCUSSION patients, risk development severe is increased because high-energy trauma impact a acetabulum does not always protect against necessity for total replacement. CONCLUSIONS Our its shows that these techniques provide reduction, gain mostly good radiological functional results, may decrease symptomatic both column suggest unsatisfactory an strong predictor PTOA, arthroplasty. Key words: acetabulum, osteoarthritis.

The modified Stoppa approach for acetabular fracture.
Judet et al and Letournel and Judet laid the groundwork for the current understanding and management of acetabular fractures. They developed a classification system and novel surgical approaches that still serve as the standard of care. Modifications of these approaches (eg, ilioinguinal, Kocher-Langenbeck) have been developed to improve surgical outcomes. The Stoppa approach is used in the rep...
متن کاملMid-term outcome of patients with pelvic and acetabular fractures following internal fixation through a modified Stoppa approach.
This retrospective study presents the mid-term outcome of polytrauma patients with pelvic ring and acetabular fractures operated using a modified Stoppa approach. We examined 32 patients (13 women and 19 men ; mean age 44 years) 24 to 40 months after the trauma. We performed a functional assessment of these patients using Majeed's score. Mean Majeed score was 86.9 +/- 8.22 with a range from 70 ...

متن کاملInguinal Abnormalities in Male Patients with Acetabular Fractures Treated Using an Ilioinguinal Exposure
Purpose: Surgeons performing an ilioinguinal exposure for acetabular fracture surgery need to be aware of aberrant findings such as inguinal hernias and spermatic cord lesions. The purpose of this study is to report these occurrences in a clinical series of adult males undergoing acetabular fracture fixation and a series of adult male cadavers. The secondary aim is to characterize these abnorma...
